It reads "I, John Sinclair Cromwell, aged 37 years.Occupation Carpenter, do declare on oath that my personal description is: Color white, complexion light, height 5 feet 6 inches, weight 160 pounds, color of hair black, color of eyes blue other visible distinctive marks none.I was born in Western Bay Newfoundland, on the 23rd day of December 1879;I now reside at 322 Lynn Street, Malden.I emigrated to the United States of America from Sydney, Nova Scotia on the vessel via rail; my last foreign residence was said Western Bay. He came to the Sates 42 years ago and located in Chelsea.He married Ella B. Hollett in Chelsea and came to Malden at the time of the Chelsea fire, having lost all his effects in the conflagration.Besides his wife and three daughters, he leaves his mother, Mrs. Elizabeth Cromwell at St. Johns, Newfoundland: four brothers, Richard of St. Johns, Enoch of Western Bay, Wilbur of Chelsea, and Edward of Halifax, N S, also one sister Mrs. Elizabeth Roberts of Western Bay.The funeral will be held Saturday at two o'clock at Wein's funeral home, and the interment will be at Glenwood." Cromwell, and three daughters, Mrs. Harwood Elwell of 20 Herbert St., Melrose, formerly of Oliver St., Miss E. Blanche Cromwell, secretary of the Linden Methodist Official Board and Mrs. Lillian C.
