Emler- Haines, my maternal grandfather(Belmont Co, Ohio) - Hains (2 different families) - Parry, my paternal grandmother(Civil War family)- Steffee my maternal grandmother- Clark- Longfellow(Salem, Ohio)-Kimble (Civil War family)-Hawthorne- Bainter- Preston- Dunfee- Davis(Belmont Co., Ohio)- Harper- Neldon, all of Coshocton, Ohio. The Emler's came to America on the ship Mary in 1732, Erick Mens Emler aka George Mark Emler followed by his father Wilhelm Imler on the ship Charming Betty in 1733. Two of my gg grandfather's served in the Civil War. John Parry of the 5th US Artillery and the 5th O.V.I. Co H. and Charles C. Kimble of the 97th O.V.I. Co. F. He was wounded in both Battle of Peachtree Creek in Atlanta and the Battle of Franklin Tn in 1864. My family came to America via Virginia, Maryland, New York, and Bedford, Pa. and all settled in Coshocton, Ohio. My gggg granfather Henry Hains was the 3rd white settler in Coshocton Co. Ohio. The Indians still roamed the county when he arrived and built his cabin. I have over 150 names in my ancestor chart and I hope I can help you and you help me with information. |
