| I've been researching both the Emmons and Coen families.Mainly of the eastern Ohio and north western West Virginia areas.I have gone back ten generations on the Emmons side and ten generations of the Coen side.My hope is to trace back to the generation that came to the USA.I have traced some names back to the 1500's in England and the 1600's in Ireland.I know the Coen's came from Ireland.I have not yet traced the Emmons name to it's origin, however I have discovered the spouses of the Emmons' to be from England and Ireland. However I'm having diffeculty with the Emmons surname.I believe they could have originated from the U.K. or Ireland. I continue to search and research both families and any help would be most appreciated. Some of the main surnames I have are: EMMONS, COEN, BRANDON, BISSELL, CARR, MC GRANAHAN, HAWK, BURDITT, MC CULLOUGH, JOHNSTON, STULLER, CLEVENGER, GRUBBS, ASHMUN, HIATT, HADDEN, WHEATLEY, VANCE, AND MANY MORE.......
