Peter Emswiler (Imbsweiller) came from Germany via Rotterdam on ship Leslie. He landed in Philadelphia, PA and pledged his allegiance on 7 October 1749. Peter and wife Eva had children Peter Jr., Catherina, Jacob, Eva, Marillis, John, Anna Marie, Philip, Margaret and Henry.Son Jacob moved to Shenandoah County, VA between 1780 and 1782. He married Catharine Painter and their children were: John (1m.?, 2m. Frances Atwell) Elizabeth (m. John Rhinehart) Magdalien (m. Martin Foltz) Susan (m. Michael Rhienhart, 2m. Michael Tusing) Anna Maria (m. Henry Foland) George (m. Frances Corbin and moved to Ohio 1830s) Philip Catharine (m. Philip Painter) Christina (b & d) Barbara (m. Christian Heatwole) Jacob Jr. (M. Elizabeth Lutz) Henry (m. Anna Eliza) Eve (m. Abraham Lutz)The majority of the children stayed in Shenandoah County and Rockingham County, Virginia.Our lineage is Jacob Jr. but we are interested in the entire Emswiler family and are willing to exchange information.Bob and Lois Emswiler |
