On Sep 1631, Robert Pitt, son of William Pitt, merchant, qualified for freedom and admittance to the Merchant Society, Bristol.
The plantation of Robert Pitt is mentioned as being included within Isle of Wight Co. in the Act of 1642-43 which passed to determine the boundaries between Isle of Wight and Upper Norfolk [Nansemond] Counties.
He represented Isle of Wight Co. in the House of Burgesses 1649-1660.
On 5 Feb 1649, bought 350 acres from Richard Young, located on New Town Haven River. [Bk. A, pg. 115] wit: Robert Pitt, Jr.
He was Lieutenant Colonel commanding the Isle of Wight militia in 1662.

There is a grant, dated 1682, for 235 acres of land to John Brashear (son of Robert Brashear), which had descended from George Stevens to the said Brashear, "as marrying Mary, dau. of Col. Robert Pitt." It would appear from this that one of Col. Robert Pitt's wives was a daughter of George Stevens, who patented in Isle of Wight.

Notes for Lt. Col. Tristram Norsworthy:
First of the family in Virginia

Patented 200 acres of land in Nanswmond on 6/5/1639 "toward the head of a bay behind the Ragged Islands". On the same date he patented 150 acres near Daniel Gookin for his own personal adventure and that of his wife Ann and a servant.

He was Burgess for Upper Norfolk Co. or Nansemond Co. in 1641.
Became the Sheriff of Isle of Wight when it became a shire.
I have found no link yet, however, I presume that Tristram Norsworthy came from Devonshire, England. Norsworthy or Notsworthy is a village in the Parrish of Widecombe on the Moor, Devonshire.

A deed dated 1 May 1690 of Tristram Norsworthy (Isle of Wight Co.) implies he has at least two daughters: Sarah and Elizabeth. The only reasonable assumption that can be drawn (based on current data) is that this Tristram Norsworthy had these two daughters (perhaps among others). [W&M Qtrly vol 7, pg. 246]
