Casper Hettiger arrived Dec. 21, 1854 at New York, on the Ship "Silas Greenman" from Le Havre. He was from Niederroedern, Elsass. He settled in Rome, NY, where he married Minnie Qualman in 1860. They moved on to Forestville, Wis. in 1867, where they lived through the Great Fire of 1871.
