Minnie Krause was born in Schivelbein, Pommern to Geofry Mueller and wife. She and August Krause had four children who lived to adulthood in the Town of Ahnapee, Kewaunee Co., Wis. The family attended St. Paul's Evangelical Lutheran Church in Ahnapee.
