Our Family began in the United States as early as the 1660's. We think that our Ancestors heard that there was land and liberty in the New World and headed over right away. We suppose that they were a very adventureous people because they became frontiers people living on the frontier moving west continually from North Carolina to Kentucky to Missouri and Arkansas and on to California during the depression. The Chesters, Stubblefields, Davis, Simmons, Rice, Hall, Brewer, McWilliams, Barnes, Benefield, Milam, Fletcher, House, Wilhoit, among them. It took us years to find our people but we finally crossed the pond back to England on some of the lines with the help of the internet. Our Barnes ancestors are still elusive and we can't get past my great grand-father John William Barnes Jr. but we're still researching. Perhaps you can make a connection with us!
