A number of years ago I started making a family tree for the first time. Sent out numerous letters with very few responses. At that time I was able to accomplish little, the tree software I was using wasn't very stable and kept corrupting my work about the time I exceded 500 names. Since that time I have moved many times and the records I made then are hopefully still in storage back home in Maine, but I have started from scratch hoping to be able to add in parts of the previous material at some futire date, currently I have been mining the net and making contacts with various representitives of the branches of my family tree. I use as many sources from the net as I can for each family unit and use the most common facts, hopefully making my records as acurate as possible, this is an on going project and there seems to be a wealth of information available on most branches in my family tree, it seems at times that I must be related to almost everyone, a good number of my ancestors were amongst the first to settle in this country, and a few were here to meet them or so family tradition has it.
