Find Family
Our families came to America with the first Colonists, and they continued to move West, looking for something. If there were diaries or records, they got lost on the way. Now we're trying to pin down the oral stories, and find some documents to validate them. The VanPatters (maternal line) settled in upstate New York in the Dutch colonies - some are still there. The Enyearts - also Dutch- settled Staten Island. The Lays (English) were early arrivals in Connecticutt. We have some names, but have yet to find the ships' records that brought them here. We would like to know who they were, their vocations, their politics, their health, their religion, and what they left behind?
We are trying to have a Lay/VanPatter reunion about every 5 years for the benefit of the Milleneum kids, who no longer have their grandparents' stories. We would appreciate any contributions!
