This page is dedicated my father Phillip K. Epling who spent a lifetime gathering information on the Epling family history. It is for the use of anyone interested in researching the lineage of descendants from John Paul Ebling of Giles Co. Va. through Paul Epling and Isaac Epling who came to Ky in the 1800's to settle at Mouthcard, Ky. My father was very interested in the Epling Genealogy. According to him the Eplings came to this country from Germany by way of a brief stop in England and settled in the Norfolk/Jamestown area and then moved west through the Shannendoah to the Pearisburg area in Va. I regret that he didn't have the resources to use that have recently become available to me. I began from his notes and have compiled a fairly complete line back to 1780 in Giles Co. Va. I am also interested in the Harless line which Paul Epling married into through Elizabeth Harless in 1801. This line goes back to 1653 through the Harlesses and the Prisches to the Bavarian region in Germany, the same region that word of mouth says that the Eplings came from originally. I would be interested in any information, validated or not, on the Epling family line before 1780. I look forward to any correspondence or email from others interested in this line. My email address is aepling@pike.k12.ky.us Allen Epling |
