"The David Hansford Eplin Home Page"

I was born in Holden (Logan County) West Virginia on December 13, 1950. We moved to Streator, Illinois when I was 6 months old. My Dad is Vermal Cline Eplin and his father was Daniel Freeman Eplin. If you see any names on my pages that ring a bell, feel free to e-mail me. With the help of a couple of new found cousins Fred Eplin and Jeffrey Epling, we have for sure went back to William Epling that was born in Giles County Virginia around 1822. Any information I have I will gladly share, likewise I hope. Also Fred and I are working on a "EPLIN & EPLING FAMILY REUNION" hopefully to be held in July 2000, around West Hamlin, West Virginia. Anyone interested can contact me or Fred, via e-mail or snail mail. This would be a good time for bringing copies of family history and pictures to share.
I would also like any information about my wife's side, Connell (O'Connell). Her dads Great Grandfather came from Cork County Ireland (1846), and settled around the (Bruce Township) Streator, Illinois area. No Idea if Patrick or Michael O'Connell had any brothers or relatives that might have settled somewhere else. The story goes with Michael that he had knocked an Englishman out, and he thought he killed him so he left his beloved Ireland for the United States to escape prosecution. Later he found out that the Englishman was alive. I will be updating these pages as time and information permits.
Also any Janney's (my mother's side) would be appreciated.
My Last name is spelled Eplin but William had a "g" on the end of his. Also we have a lot of Elkins listed, so feel free to take a look at any of the surnames.
Also my wifes mom was a Laken, Her dad was Michael Laken from Ottawa, Illinois. Michael Laken had imigrated from Austria.
