I have been researching the Epley name and through several good sources found that John Epplee who was born 1720 or earlier, who his parents were we do not know, nor the date of his arrival, what ship or from whence.

John may be a relative to George Appel, Wendel Appel and Margaret [Appel] Wildisin, who are brothers and sister that arrived October 3, 1765 on a ship "King of Prussia" at Philadelphia, PA.

The first and earliest date of him is a grant of 221 acres of land situated in Manheim Township, York Co,. PA., and surveyed June 16, 1767 by two orders dated October 3, 1766 (No. 1408 and 1409) in which his name is written John Applee, and a track of land, owing to its peculiar shape, was called "Many Corners." He signed his name by making his mark [H.E.] to several deeds. His wife's name was Rosina and she also signed by her mark.
