This page outlines the ancestors of my husband's Crabtree and Thompson lineages on his paternal side, as well as Burch, Pearl, etc. on his maternal side. I don't guarantee that everything contained here is 100% accurate, so any corrections are welcome. I have acquired a re-typed version of the book "The Crabtree Family of Wayne County, W. Va." compiled by Roderick Stephen Lewis in 1975, and will gladly forward in email in WORD or .pdf format to anyone wanting a copy. There is no cost for this. 06 Jun 2006 I have also downloaded a digital copy of the book "The Crabtrees of Southwest Virginia" originally compiled by Arah Miller Fritz and published in Pecos, Texas, 1965. The book is about 338 pages long and includes a 35 page index. (note: this is NOT a searcheable file, it is a scanned image) This file is in PDF format, however it is much too large to send via email. I have burned copies onto CD and have them available for $7 shipping included(shipped in US only). The $5 covers the CD, envelope, S&H, and a little time on my part. I only posted ones that I have in my tree so far, but have a lot more on file. If you don't see one you are looking for, contact me and I will see if I happen to have it. Cemeteries that I photographed are: (all in Wayne Co., WV) Crabtree-Thompson Cem.-Joel's Branch, Crabtree-Thompson Cem.-Rt. 37, Bartram Cem.-Rt. 37, Webb Cem.-off Rt. 37 & Tark Hill Rd., 2 Ball Cemeteries as well as the Huff Cem. off of Joel's Branch. 10 Feb 2008 I have recently purchased a subscription to Ancestry.com and will do lookups! If you haven't purchased Family Treemaker 2010, it's awesome. It tells you if there's information relative to you (or possibly) on Ancestry.com and you can automatically attach it to your file if you have a subscription. There are still a few kinks and bugs, but overall I'm happy with it. A lot of people sound discouraged with it, but be patient, as I'm sure it will all be worked out in time.

It sits on Joel's Branch not far from the Crabtree-Thompson Cemetery. Fin Thompson's House (144 KB) Finley Thompson (s/o Edmond and Susan Ellen Crabtree Thompson) lived in this house with his daughter, Edna Thompson Clay.
