| I am researching the genealogy of the following families: Erckmann-Carl Gustav Erckmann arrived in Charleston,SC, around 1860 from Bremen, Germany. The family may originally have come from Alsace-Lorraine. Butler-Thomas Butler arrived in Charleston prior to the Revolutionary War possibly from Wexford, Ireland. Hacker-Benjamin Hacker arrived in Charleston around 1800 from Bermuda. A brother may have gone to Philadelphia at the same time. The family was English. Pegues-Claudius Pegues arrived in Georgetown, SC, in 1736 from London, England. The family moved to Marlboro County. |
