Dolly's Genealogy

I'm a novice with genealogy so please be patient with me.

I started to take an interest a couple years ago when I became aware of old family photos (mostly unmarked) and handwritten family history that my father and his siblings had retrived from my deceased grandmother's possessions. Next, I spent long winter evenings organizing the photos and documentation in binders and files. I talked with relatives to identify many of the pictures. Others are still labeled "unknown".

As I started to talk with relatives about what I had available and to find out what they had, I found that a few shared my great interest, some had a casual interest, and many were not very interested. However, I recognize the level of interest is influenced by the season in our life, our busy schedules, etc. Mostly though, I think it just has to grow on a person over time!

I'm very appreciative of the encouragement of those who share my enthusiasm. I am hopeful that we can work together, and add other recruits as they become more interested, to pool our creativity and resources, and thereby be more efficient.
