Austin State University and San Marcos, Northern Arizona, Ohio State, and Boston University, receiving a B.S. in Accounting from American International College in Springfield, Massachusetts. He served in World War II and returned to the armed forces during the Korean War, retiring as Lt. Colonel in 1965. He entered civil service and retired in 1977.
