DOMESTIC TROUBLE LEADS TO SUICIDE
Rather Than Give Up Wife Howard English Takes Own Life

Howard A English, whose home was formerly at Mayfield, but later of this city, committed suicide Monday morning at Enid, Oklahoma, his body being discovered by a fellow employee in the creamery in which they worked with part of the head blown away by a shotgun charge.
The cause of the tragedy was revealed by note found on the body which had been written by his wife from Topeka May 20th, in which she stated that she had learned she had no divorce from her former husband as she has supposed, and that her marriage to English would have to be annulled.
The wife was formerly Isabelle McPhail, of this city, whom he had married March 7th last at Enid. English was formerly employed by Swift & company at their agency in this city but later was transferred to their house at Enid. His mother, Mrs. Ella F English resides at Mayfield and a siter, Mrs. Ethel English, at Newton. The father died a little more than a year ago.
The remains reached this city on the 2:25 Rock island from Enid and were taken from here to Mayfield where the funeral was held from the Methodist Church at 10 o'clock this (Wednesday) forenoon, Rev. H.C. Johnson officiating, followed by interment in the local cemetery.
