The Erikson Family of Forked River NJ, USA

Updated July 13, 2005

William A Erikson

I've been researching my family history for a while now, and have come across a few stumbling blocks. I've been able to easily document my German ancestry and their travels to the US. I have been having a difficult time with the Swedish side of the family. I know where they came from, but have no idea as to how and when they arrived in the US. On my ex-wife's side of the family, there were excellent records kept and researched dating back to several passengers on the Mayflower.

I have been very fortunate that my parents kept great photos of the family dating back to the late 19th century. Many of them had the backs labeled in great detail.

My Grandfather Hilmer W. Eriksson came from Helsingborg Sweden, his wife Ruth, was born here in the US. My Grandfather August Ruhe is from Achim Germany, his wife, Helene, is from Magdeburg Germany.
