THE HENRY BULLETIN, Tue., May 22, 1923, p. 1, col. 3 [edited]. Mr. B. F. Gravely, aged 72 years, died last Sunday at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Gordon Barker, of Axton. His health had not been good for sometime and a few days ago he was stricken with paralysis from which he did not rally. The deceased was a former citizen of Martinsville, having been reared in this county, and was a son of the late John K. Gravely. For the past few years he had made Charleston, W. Va., his home, and had for several months been visiting his daughters in this county. Mr. Gravely is survived by the following children: Mrs. N. B. Gravely of Axton; Mrs. T. E. Gravely of Martinsville; B. F. Gravely Jr. of Charleston, W. Va., H. G. Gravely of Phoenix, Ariz.; A. H. Gravely of Charleston, W. Va., Mrs. C. G. Barker of Axton; and Mrs. J. T. Irwin of Washington, D. C. The deceased is also survived by three brothers and two sisters: George W. Gravely and Green S. Gravely of Axton; Zephaniah Gravely of Danville and Miss Mary E. Gravely, also of Danville. The funeral was conducted yesterday from the home of Mrs. Gordon Barker of Axton, and interment was in Oakwood Cemetery at Martinsville. Mr. Gravely was for a number of years engaged in the tobacco manufacturing and mercantile business in Martinsville. [Benjamin F. Gravely was a son of John K. Gravely and Mary G. Clanton. bwl]

Well Known Henry County Citizen Laid to Rest
Funeral services for the late Green S. Gravely, 82 years of age , and a member of one of Henry county's oldest families, who passed away Sunday Night at Axton following a long decline in health were held from the late home Tuesday afternoon followed by internment in the family burial ground near Axton.
Surving is his wife, one daughter , Miss Mary Ella Gravely, and four sons, R. W. Gravely and J. L. Gravely, of Danville, L. N. Gravely, of Ringgold and Gravely Gravely, of Axton. Also an adopted son William Williams, of Axton. Mrs. T. E. Gravely, of Martinsville is a niece.
The deceased was the last of the family of the late J. K. Gravely of Henry county, and was a brother of the late Benjamine F. Gravely, several decades ago one of Henry county's leading manufactures of tobacco.

Gravely Funeral Monday At Late Home Near Axton
Green Sowers Gravely, son of the late John K. Gravely and Mary C. Gravely, and the last surviving member of that family, passed away at his home Sunday evening at nine o'clock January 27th. He had been seriously ill for some time with a complication and his death was not unexpected.
Mr. gravely was 80 years of age. he was born at Dyer's Store , Henry county, Virginia. in 1855, and married Sallie Will Williams, of Pittsylvania county, Virginia., and she and the following children survive; Lauren Gravely , of Ringgold, Virginia.; Robert W. Gravely, of Danville; John L.; Pate and Ella Gravely, of Axton , and one nephew, Bill Williams , who he reared, besides a number of grand children, nieces and nephews.
He is an uncle of Mrs. T. E. Gravely, of this city, and a great grandson of Joseph Gravely, a soldier in the Revolutionary war, during the American struggle for independence.
Mr. Gravely was a devoted husband and father, public spirited, and interested in the community affairs, and no home in Virginia is more hospitable.
Funeral Services were conducted from his residence Tuesday afternoon by Reverends W. C. Hughes, of the Baptist Church.

DIES AS RESULT OF AUTO ACCIDENT
Zephaniah Gravely Passed Away at Danville Sep. 21st
Zephaniah Stultz Gravely died at Edmunds hospital in danville Friday morning, Sept. 21st. after a lingering illness, as the result of a car accident which occurred in February.
He was the youngest surviving son of the late John King and mary C. gravely and was born at Dyer's Store, Henry county, Virginia., in 1846. where he resided the greater part of his life, at the ancestral home of his grandfather, Joseph Gravely, being of Revolutionary fame.
He later moved to Danville, where he was residing at the time of his death.
He leaves to mourn his loss one sister, Mary Elaenor Gravely, and two brothers, Geo. W. and green S. Gravely, of Axton; also a number of nieces and nephews, among them Mrs. T. E. Gravely of this place.
His father, mother and two sisters Mrs . T. W. Steagall and Mrs J. H. Fox, four brothers, John L., Joseph K., Jesse C. and Benjamine F. Gravely having preceeded him to the grave several yrears agi.
Funeral services were conducted Saturday afternoon at 3 o'clock from the Townes funeral parlor near his home, by Rev. Roberts of the First Baptist church, Ringgold, Virginia. amidst a large concourse of sorrowing friends and relatives.

Internment ws in Leemonte cemetery.

The floral offerings were beautiful.
