Notes for Herbert Heinrich Espenschied: Death Notice from The Daily Reporter Monday June 23, 1941
Herbert H. Espenschied, 64, shearman at the Reeves Steel & Mfg. Co., was found dead in bed at 9 o'clock yesterday morning at his home, 808 Third-st. NW, New Philadelphia, by his wife Ida Zimmer Espenschied.
The attending physician pronounced death due to a heart attack and said Mr. Espenschied had died about two hours before found. He had been ill recently but worked the last month, completing last week Friday.
He was born Nov. 18, 1876 at Ragersville, a son of the late Henry and Drusilla Gonter Espenschied and was employed at the Reeves Steel & Mfg. Co. for the past 17 years. He was a member of Reeves Local No. 168, the Reeves Benificial Association and of the Ragersville Reformed Church.
Surviving are the widow; the following children, Mrs. George Schumacher, and Mrs Henry Low of Dover, Mrs. Mildred Crawshaw of New Philadelphia, Mrs. Raymond Hall of Uhrichville and Harold and Herbert Jr., both of the home; one brother, Adolph Espenschied of Brandywine, two sisters Mrs. Charles Mathias and Mrs. Harvey Winkler, both of New Philadelphia, and five grand children.
Funeral services were held at two pm. at the residence with the reverand Edward Shepfer of Sugarcreek officiating. Burial is at Evergreen Cemetary in charge of the Toland Funeral Home.
