Notes for Andrew Kuffa: Andrew Kuffa (aka Andras, Andro Kufa) was born November 27, 1888(or November 25, 1891)in Szorcsinovecz, Hungary. He married Agnesa Emily Kubalik (Kubalek) October 1910 in Szorcsinovecz, Hungary. He and Agnesa had seven children, that lived, Frank, Andrew, Anna, Joseph, Mary, John, and Agnes. His first trip to the United States was on the ship, The Bremen. That ship departed from Bremen, Germany and arrived at Ellis Island, New York on October 2, 1906. On his second trip to the United States he left from Bremen, Germany on the SS Rhein, North German Lloyd for the United States and arrived in Philadelphia on May 30, 1911. When he first came to the United States he lived with is sister, Frances and her husband, Ignatz Ciprich, in Laceyville, PA. Andrew's first job was working on the railroad. When his wife, Agnesa, and baby Frank came to the United States to join Andrew they moved into an apartment at Skinners Eddy, a little area near Laceyville. When they no longer needed workers on the railroad he went to Hudson, PA to work in the mines. He and his family moved to 195 First Street in Hudson. He became a United States Citizen February 20, 1934 at age 45. He had brown hair, gray eyes, was 5'8" , had fair complexion, and weighed 150 pounds. He and his family moved to a farm they bought from the Gay family in Sugar Hollow. He died of miners asthma January 12, 1936 and is buried at Mt. Carmel Cemetary, Tunkhannock, PA.
