He enlisted in the Army November 1, 1917 at Pittston, Pennsylvania at age 24, discharged from Camp Dix, New Jersey August 22, 1919. Served in France and Germany from January 12, 1918 to August 16, 1919. Listed his occupation as motorman in coalmines. Dark brown hair, 5'5" ruddy complexion. This information was found through his discharge papers. Never Married.
