I am researching the origins of the surname Essery.
The name originated in North Devon, England. See my website for the origins of the name.

So far I have traced my own family back to Anthony Essery who died in Little Torrington in North Devon in 1715.

I have complete records from the UK 1851 Census of all Esserys living in Devon, England at that time. I also have the copies of the complete set of entries of all Esserys living in England, Wales, Scotland and Ireland taken from the 1881 Census.
