Estabrook, my Father's side of the family, names are: Chamberlin, Steimer, Edd, Estabrook, Weir, Griswold, Barr, Rubert, Cox, Keiser, and Lee. The Lee is Sarah Ann Lee, Daughter of Enoch Lee. Most of the family I have found so far, comes from Michigan, Iowa, Ohio, South Dakota, Minnesota, Maine, and Vermont. Some roots are traced back to England. The Chamberlin's have their own Society. Their web page is http://www.ismi.net/welmar/ The link is below.

Van Ryn's, my Mother's side of the family, and the Van Leurs are from Holland. Settled mostly around New York and Canada and our branch to South Dakota.

My Husbands family, the Dominguez Family of Santa Barbara, CA came from Sinaloa, Mexico in the Mid 1700's. They had a Spanish Land Grant in Santa Barbara, CA. until mid 1900's.

Family Photos

  • Orignial Dominguez Adobe Bef. 1925 (42 KB)
This is the original adobe house where many of the family were born. It stood at the Southeast corner of Carillo & Santa Barbara St. It was made uninhabital by the earthquake in 1925. The last known resident, to my findings, was Maria Tomasa Espinosa Dominguiz, my husband's Great-Grandmother.
  • Al & Hazel Van Leur's "Kids" in 1993 (69 KB)
This photo is the 5 brothers and sisters taken at a family reunion in 1993. We were all at a dinner at the Hall in Forestburg, South Dakota (L-R) Jean, Bill, Mary Jo, Shirley, and Jack
  • Frank Van Leur & Family 1910 (394 KB)
Frank & Mary Van Leur Family. Photo taken about 1910. From L to R (sitting & standing) Marie, Frank (Sitting), Albert (Standing), Francis, Nell, George, Minnie, Rose, Henry, Mary, Ann, (Dorothy and Fred not born yet.)
  • Bud Chamberlin & Sister Adeline 1923 (121 KB)
Bud (Royal Milton) Chamberlin & Sister Adeline, and Family on the way to California in 1923. He would have been about 12 and she would have been around 10. I am assuming that the older man in the Photo is John Spencer Chamberlin and that the woman in the photo would be Nellie. What do you think?
