The name Etchart is a Basque name. My Grandfather Pedro Also knownas Pete imigrated from Europe to Mexico and then entered the United States through the great state of Texas. Eventually he moved to California. He was married to my Grandmother in San Diego County. They eventually moved to Tahatchapee California then Bakersfield, California. Thus the Start of the Etcharts in America.
