| My name is James Dwight Etenburn, I recently celebrated my 57th birthday. I was born in Centralia, Illinois October 10, 1945. My father was Herbert Dwight Etenburn from Dix, Illinois. My mother was Mary Elizabeth Todd from Benton, Illinois. On my fathers side my grandfather was Harry Etenburn also from Dix, Illinois. My great-grandfather was Henry Etenburn, a migrant worker that came from Kentucky below Paducah but would never talk about anything beyond that. I believe he was originally from Indiana somewhere around Terre Haute and had been married previously, although I am told he would never talk about it. On my mothers side my grandfather was James Jeffery Todd from Benton, Illinois and my grandmother his second wife Bess Margaret Kendall from Benton, Illinois. His first wife died in child birth. I am searching for Etenburn, Todd, Ray, Kendall, Burge, Pitts, Trout, Spencer, Halstenberg, Beggs, Wooters, Hails, Katts, Kraus, Dew, Lamb, Hanner, Phelps, Cole in and around Southern Illinois, Southern Indiana and Western Kentucky. I am also searching for Cracraft, Ulseman, Adams, Jones and Teagarden in Kentucky from Covington to Maysville. The first Etenburn I can find was a Henry Etenburn (Union Soldier) back in the Civil War that served in the 10th and 58th Indiana Regiments. I also found a Martha Etenburn referenced in a school picture from Pensylvania but the oldest reference I have found was in the 1830 Census in Pennsylvania there was a Jerry Etenburn. Any help would be appreciated. I am willing to share all the information I currently have with anyone interested. |
