Notes for Louisa Bennett: The following is from Marlene Simmons' report to Russell Etienne dated jan18, 2007, page 4.
Extract 1, the Josiah Berryman newspaper entry is a cross-reference, involving the death of his widow. Since it gives you a place in New York to look for them, I have transcribed it. It comes from the Dec. 31, 1901 issue of the Montreal Weekly Witness newspaper. I cannot cite a microfilm number for this, because I indexed the original which is in the collection of the Missisquoi Historical Society in Stanbridge East. In the newspaper is a death notice stating that Louisa Bennett, widow of Josiah Berryman died Dec. 25, 1901 in Montreal aged 71y, 9m. She was the daughter of the late Philip Bennett of Cornwall, England. There is a note to Gouvemeur, N.Y. newspapers to copy this death notice.
