This is a postcard that Aunt Rose (Truman) Lightman-Eutsler gave to me when I first started my research. When this photo was taken Hazel was very ill with Scarlet Fever, her foster mother (Millie Eutsler) made some sagebrush tea and washed her hair with it ... (an old wive's tale said this was the cure for Scarlet fever) ... Hazel did get well but the sagebrush tea made her blonde hair turn dark, and it stayed dark for the rest of her life. The boy in the photo is believed to be Charles Harold "Uncle Jing" Eutsler.
