I am researching many family trees at one time which is very time consuming but I love it. Presently I am at a stand still with the following:
I am researching the Charles Jester (1820-1879) family tree of Chincoteague, VA. He and his wife, Delilah J. Sharpley (1834-1915)were my maternal great great grandparents. Charles, a poor boy of Milford Hundred, Kent County, DE, was indentured out to a George Black, farmer, in October 1831. But that is all I am able to find out. Any and all assistance regarding Charles & Delilah would be greatly appreciated.
Also I am researching another maternal family tree of Chincoteague, VA. John and Margaret Showard Cherricks who were married on December 26, 1837. Their grandson and my maternal great grandparents, Charles Henry (May 02, 1868-August 06, 1934) married Ella Lee Daisey (June 28, 1869-February 13, 1961) on October 02, 1886. Charles changed the spelling of his last name from Cherricks to Cherrix between the years of 1896-1905.
On my fathers side, I am researching any know facts on a Joshua Russell (1668-1775) who came over on the ship "Welcome" with William Penn in 1682 on his first voyage to America. On the ship he was what they called a "Cup Bearer" which is another name for a Bartender so I am told by the historical society of DE. These are my direct descendents from Joshua, then Phillip, Emanuel and Esther Heavalo, Robert,Heavelow and Sarah (Sallie) Shockley, David and Lydia Rusner, Robert H. and Mary A. Kern, Willadore Parker and Leona Elizabeth Berry , and my parents Robert Kern and Daisy Beulah Jester Russell. This set of Russells' are the pioneer family of Lewes, Sussex County, DE.
Again any help in any of the above would be greatly appreciated.
Thank you in advance.
