I'm in the very early stages of researching the history of my family who were based around South Manchester. Our small twig emigrated to Australia in 1968 as "TEN POUND TOURISTS".

Both of my parents know very little about their families - my father's parents had both died by the time he was eleven. So it's just as exciting for them when I find someone.

We do know that my grandfather, Samuel Evans, was a plasterer for a builder named Hartley who built a housing estate at Briarfield Road, Withington in the late 1920's.
