Jesse Hall (son of Thomas Hall, Jr. and Elizabeth Williams) was born April 1755 in Pittsylvania Co, VA, and died April 25, 1833 in Oconee Co, SC. He married Hannah Louisa Kelly on August 16, 1785 in Rutherford Co, NC, daughter of John Kelly.

Revolutionary Soldier, serving in NC and SC militia units. Pension #W21258. Jesse Hall fought in the company of Captain Baptiste Ashe, Col. Archibald Lytle's Regiment of NC. He fought in the battle of Brier Creek and Stono. He was taken prisoner at the fall of Charleston but was later paroled and returned to NC. Finding Wilkes Co in a very unsettled state, he returned to SC. He then joined the company of Captain Sam Taylor and was later transferred to the company of Captain Brevard. He fought in the battles of Cowpens, Guilford, "Seige of 96" and Eutaw. He served 4 years in all. The documentary evidence of Jesse Hall's service is found in the office of the U.S. Commission of pensions at Washington.

Jesse hall born in 1755 married Hannah Kelly. He is the son of Thomas Hall Jr. of Surry Co NC, who was the son of Thomas Hall Sr. and Martha of Jonathon Creek and Snow Creek of the Pigg River of modern Franklin Co VA, I descend from Jesse Hall son of Thomas Hall Sr and Martha....

Hannah Hall applied for pension from St of SC District of Pickens 4 Feb 1845. Age 80. Widow of Jesse Hall Pvt in Rev War . Entered service on New River NC enlisted for 2 1/2 yrs. Rendezvoused at Wilmington was at Battle of Cowpens, Ewtah Springs & Ninety Six. taken prisoner in Charleston and was there sick. under Capt Devans. enlisted under Sgt Doherty and was under Col Washington as a trooper six months. Jesse Hall was a pensioner under Act of Congress of 1832. Married by Squire ?? (cannot recollect). They lived in Rutherford Co. NC on Poll River. Her husband and his father lived on Broad River. She thinks their marriage took place in 1786 or 87 in summertime. Oldest son is Zachariah Hall, born about a year after their marriage. Jesse died in April, 1833. Her maiden name is Kelly. Jesse was born in Pittsylvania Co VA 1755. Lived in Wilkes Co. NC. Brother in Law Patrick Kelly vouched for Jesse's pension. Her father was John Kelly. Was also in Battle of Brier Crk, Battle of Stone Mountain, Gilford Courthouse.
