| The Evans family roots extend deep throughout the South and into the countries of Scotland, Wales, Ireland and England. My particular interest at this time is on the "Munro" side of the family. The Munros came to North Carolina between 1730 & 1740 with the Campbells of the Argyll Shire of Scotland and settled on the Cape Fear river. The Settlement was referred to as the Argyll Colony and was at the modern day site of Ft Bragg, NC. The Munros lived continuously in the area until the early 1900s when their home places were condemed for the development of Ft Bragg. Main Family Surmames: Munro, Munroe, Munrow, Monroe, Jones, Gentry, Deriso, Evans, |
