| Our family is presently researching a branch of the Harrison family from Wheeling, West Virginia (Ohio County), who were living there in the early to mid-1790s and perhaps somewhat later. William Walter Roe (or Rowe) Harrison was born at Fort Henry (Wheeling, West Virginia - Ohio County) on 13 June 1794. His father may have been John Harrison who married Elizabeth Roe in Franklin County, Pennsylvania, and is believed to have died there about 1814. William Walter Roe Harrison, being almost 20 yrs of age, left the family to make his own way and relocated to Missouri. He settled in extreme northeast Missouri, along the Des Moines river, where he built his home and family in a town he helped found called Marysville. There he traded with the Indians, namely Chief Black Hawk and his tribe, and also Chief Keokuk. We would like to establish the family of William Walter Roe Harrison, i.e., his parents and grandparents and extended family. Another family line that we are researching is the George Soule family that arrived in Massachusets on the Mayflower. He is believed to born about 1595 in Eckington, England, and was married to Mary Becket (or Bucket), also of England and born about 1602. Their children included Benjamin, Elizabeth, George, Mary, Nathaniel, Patience, Susanna, Zachariah, and John. We are attempting to locate the parents, and grandparents of George Soule. My wife descends from both of these lines, through Robert John Le Master, born 1885, and Ada C. Boatman , born 1893. A final branch of interest came from Enniskillen, Ireland in the form of Raphael and Jane Ewart. All we know of he and his wife is that he was born in 1736 in Enniskillen, that they both died in Pennsylvania, and that they had a son, Robert, born June, 1884. Any information that you'd care to share would be greatly appreciated. We are willing to share any information and sources that we have already discovered. |
