Currently researching the family of William Alexander Ewing, born March 22, 1827, in Perry County, Pennsylvania. Son of Ralph Ewing and Ann Reid, both natives of Pennsylvania. 1850 census lists William's brothers and sisters as: Jefre (possibly Jesse) Ewing, b. abt. 1831; Mary Jane, b. abt. 1833; Sara Ann, b. abt. 1835; Cyrus, b. abt. 1837; and John, b. abt. 1842.
William married Rebecca N. Marshall, a Pennsylvania native, in 1855. Shortly thereafter, the family (including Ralph and most of his sons) moved to Boone County, Illinois. William and his brother Cyrus homesteaded in Marshall County, Kansas, in 1870.

William's father, Ralph, is believed to have had a twin brother, Robert, who may have settled in Kentucky. Would like to know more about that branch of the family, also.
