John Pixler (son of Conrad Pixler and Elizabeth)^{8321, 8322, 8323, 8324, 8325} was born June 05, 1801 in Fayette, Pennsylvania^{8326, 8327, 8328, 8329, 8330}, and died July 10, 1839 in Monongalia, (W) Virginia⁸³³⁰. He married Elizabeth Henry on Abt. 1825 in Monongalia, (W) Virginia^{8331, 8332, 8333, 8334}, daughter of James Henry.

John Pixler built a log cabin on his farm. It was expanded over the years to accomodate the f amily. In 1913 is was replaced by a common style two story farm house by his grandson Willia m Judson Pixler, son of John Westley Pixler

Pixler, John (1801-1839) emigrated from Ireland while quite young to Lancaster, PA, on to S tewartstown about 1820, following the trade of tanner, (something hand written here about hi s residence still standing 100 years later) after a short sojourn here he went on to Kingwoo d continuing his work. In 1825 he married Elizabeth Henry. In 1834 he purchased 154 acres o f the original Nicholas Vandervort land, built a home and operated a farm until his death. H e was a staunch Baptist in belief and one of the founders of their society in the locality. T here were three sons and four daughters born to then, all staying in or near the settlement . The Pixlers are Republican in politics.

This entry giving John as emmigrating from Ireland when quite young is in conflict with othe r records. Given the date of the history, it was probably collected from the family who may h ave garbled the details from the early 1800s by 1941.
