The Exelby Family of Yorkshire, England

I am researching the Exelby families of Yorkshire. Great-great grandfather George Exelby was the proprietor of the Greyhound Inn in York. His father, Edward, was a gardener and descendant of Exelby's who resided in Copmanthorpe, Naburn and Bishopthorpe. The challenge for the moment is in discovering more about Richard Exelby, who hailed from Copmanthorpe and was a rather prolific father around the late 1700's.
