| Hi. I'm currently transferring a large portion of my family tree in to Family Tree Maker and then on to the web. So please bear with me as this is a work in progress. The lineage I have tracked so far dates back to a Robert Exley of Halifax, Burley and Askwith (Yeoman d.1647). I then have records on the Exley Families in Yorkshire from c.1300 to 1586. I'm trying to trace a link between the 1586 period and Robert Exley as this will change the whole basis of my understanding of the origination of the name "Exley".
