| This is all about the Fachko (Feczko) Family from Buffalo, New York. Fachko is my family name. I know that my grandparents came from Slovakia. They came from a small village of Maly Lipnik in the Carpatho Russian Mountains around the early 1900's. My grandparents were married in New Jersey before they settled in Buffalo. My grandparents, Stephen and Mary (nee Laychak) had 6 sons - Stephen, Michael, Joseph, John, Peter (my Dad), and Nicholas. They lived in the Black Rock area of Buffalo before moving to the East Lovejoy area and opening Fachko's Bar and Grill at 1738 William St. I know our name was changed from Feczko to Fachko by a school teacher of my Uncle Steve's. She thought it should be spelled Fachko because of the pronunciation. I believe my Grandmother went to court to change it. My Grandparents were very proud people. They wanted to do what was right in America, their new country. My parents, Pete & Martha (Marty - nee Pendziwiatr), had 4 children. Their first born, a daughter,Christine, died at age 13 mos. Second born was my brother Peter Paul (Butchie), I was next, Sandra Lee (Sandi) and Timothy James (Timmy) was the baby. Both brothers live in Anchorage, Alaska. Pete has 2 sons, John Joseph and Steven Peter. Tim has 2 daughters, Crystal Ann and Katy Rose. My parents moved to California in 1959 and lived a wonderful life. My father never returned to Buffalo and passed away in 1966. My mother lives with my husband and I. We have one daughter, Victoria (Tori). I have already compiled many family names and links. I would appreciate more information on other branches of our family. I am willing to share any and all information I might have. |
