I have been researching my family for a few years now. It started as a high school project and has grown from there. If you have any information on possible members of my family tree, or think you may be related please contact me.

| Hit or Miss
|
| I have a lot of questions.
| For instance, let me ask you this:
| Why is it that, in families,
| Relationships are hit-or-miss?
|
| I wonder how two siblings
| Both raised together side by side
| Can grow up to be strangers
| With differences intensified.
|
| And yet two long-lost cousins
| Who never shared the path they trod
| Can feel a deep connection
| Like two peas nestled in a pod.
|
| Perhaps it's very simple,
| As century through century
| A common gene or state of mind
| Selects its targets ramdomly.
|
| Defying definition,
| Somehow you know it when it's there.
| It can't be duplicated
| Or manufactured from thin air.
|
| It's more than mannerisms,
| Appearances, or point of view.
| It's sure and certain knowledge
| That someone knows you through and through.
|
| If judged by outward standards,
| Nobody else would recognize
| The essence of our being
| That lies beneath the thin disguise.
|
| It's just another myst'ry
| Of life that I cannot explain,
| But may that little chromosome
| Long live in our genetic chain!
