Thursday February 6, Mrs. Thomas Heral. Funeral services at St. Johns Catholic church Sunday, Fr. Landers officiating. Mrs. Heral was loved by all who know her and her husband and family have the sympathy of the entire community. Carson City Gazette, Friday, February 14, 1896 -- Hubbardston Mrs. Tom Herald (nee Bridget Barrett) died rather suddenly last week. Also her little child several days old, the child was buried in its mother's arms, the funeral taking place from the St. John's church. |

Notes for HELEN ZADIE NOLAN: 1920 Census: MI, County of Ionia, North Plains Twp. - Zadie age 33, born in MI, parents born in MI Carson City Gazette, Thursday, October 25, 1956 -- Rites Held for Zadie Hearld Funeral services for Mrs. Zadie Hearld, 69, Hubbardston housewife, who passed away at her home there Thursday morning, October 18, at 5 o'clock, were held from St. John the Baptist Catholic church at Hubbardston, Monday at 19 a.m. Celebrant of the Mass was Fr. Thomas Beahan of Farmington, assisted by Fr. Bernard Beahan of Sturgis, deacon, and Fr. E. R. Fox, pastor of the church, sub-deacon. Interment was in St. John the Baptist cemetery. Arrangements were made by the Burns-Gunther Funeral Home here. Mrs. Hearld was born at Hubbardston August 4, 1887, and married Thos. Hearld at Hubbardston January 25, 1905. She has always lived in or near Hubbardston, moving to the home she passed away in 1939. Her husband died in September 1945. Mrs. Hearld had been poor health for three years and been seriously ill the past year. She was a member of St. Bernadette's Guild and the Rosary Alter Society. Surviving are five sons, Thomas of Hubbardston, Louis of Westphala, Joe of Chicago, Fred of Muir and Robert of Matherton; 16 grandchildren; two brothers, John and Leo Nolan of Chicago; and five sisters, Margaret Nolan, Mrs. Monca Harmon, Mrs. Genevieve Schroeder and Mrs. Catherine Baer of Chicago and Mrs. Mary Grubaugh of Lansing. |

Rose age 7, Last name spelled Hearl Carson City Gazette, Thursday, October 7, 1937 -- Hubbardston Last Sunday was an enjoyable occasion for Mrs. Alice Ryan, who has been confined to her home for quite some time. She entertained her daughter-in-law, Mrs. John Rayn of Memoninee, Michigan, who was accompanied by her sons John, Raymond, Charles and Roland, and Mrs. Roland, all of Menominee. Others who called were Robert Montgomery, Mr. and Mrs. Howard Montgomery, and Mr. and Mrs. Kyran Beahan of Carson City, and Tom J. Montgomery and son of Chicago. Mrs. Alice Ryan is one of the few remaining pioneers of this vicinity and her descriptions of the early days are very interesting. |

She undertook to chop some ice off the floor and the horse becoming frightened, began to kick, and she received several hard blows. While no bones were broken her head and face were badly bruised.
