She had been in poor health for several years. Funeral services were held Wednesday morning from St. Joseph Catholic Church, Father Justin Hermes officiating. Burial was in MT Rest Cemetery. Rosary services were said Tuesday evening at the Hoag Chapel. Miss Loftus was born in Hubbardston Aug. 3, 1891, the daughter of John and Anna Kelly Loftus. She came to St. Johns in 1915 and has lived here since. She taught in the St Johns schools for several years. She made her home at 208 East Higham St. Surviving are two sisters, Mrs. Terrance Lynch of Carson City and Mrs. Clifford Free of Detroit; a bother, William of Ionia, and several nieces and nephews. LYNCH DIES THURSDAY Lifetime area resident, Mrs. Ila M. Lynch passed away Thursday, December 20, at Provincial House, Lansing. She was 86. Mrs. Lynch was born in Hubbardston December 30, 1893, to John and Anna Loftus. She was married to Terrence Lynch, who preceded her in death in 1972. Mrs. Lynch was a member of St. Mary's Altar Society and the Utility Club. Surviving are two sons, Kelly Lynch of Lockport, Illinois, and Robert Lynch of Lansing; three daughters, Mrs George Cooper of Lansing, Mrs Eugene Rau of Lansing, and Mrs. Eugene Cook of Pewamo; and 21 grandchildren. Funeral services were held Saturday, December 22, at St. Mary's Catholic church, Carson City. Fr. Paul Johnson officiated. Interment was in Maryknoll cemetery. Rosary was held Friday evening at Schnepp Funeral Home, Carson City. |

Carson City Gazette, Friday, June 16, 1922 -- North Shade Terrence Lynch left Saturday for Chicago on business. Obituary, Source Unknown; TERRENCE D. LYNCH CARSON CITY -- Terrence D. Lynch, 83 of rural Carson City, died Tuesday at a Lansing convalescent home. He was a lifelong resident of the Carson City area, a veteran of World War I and a member of the American Legion post here. Mr. Lynch is survived be his wife, Ila; three daughters, Mrs. George Cooper of Lansing, Mrs. Eugene Rau of Bay City, and Mrs. Eugene Cook of Lyons, and two sons, Kelly of Lockport, Ill., and Robert of Lansing. The rosary will be said at 8 o'clock tonight at the Burns-Schnepp Funeral Home. Services will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at St. Mary Church. |
