The Fakhoury Family Home Page

The Fakhoury Family research commenced in 1957. I have documentation on the following.
The Fakhoury name decended from the Al-Awadi family name which originated in Gaza, Palestine. Four Al-Awadi brothers immigrated from Gaza and settled in Ertah, Palestine(Now known as Ertah - West Bank, Jordan). Three of the brothers migrated further. The first went to Sault, Jordan. The second travelled to Damascus, Syria. The third settled in Beirut, Lebanon. Before migrating, the four brothers earned their living as clay pot makers. Clay, in arabic, is called Fah-kar. Hence the Al-Awadi name changed to Fakhoury (clay-makers).
