Trying to locate parents and siblings of George BLANTON, born ca 1775 Powell's Valley, Cumberland Co., VA, died 1860 Johnson Co., KY, married Martha SHEPHERD, born ca 1776 NC.
Also need info concerning parents and siblings of James CURTIS who married 1802 to Sarah FAIRCHILD, born 6 Jan 1784/5 Wilkes Co., NC to Abiud and Rebecca (Jackson) FAIRCHILD. James and Sarah were the parents of Elizabeth "Betty" Curtis who married Elias DAVIS, son of Richard and Mary (Fugate) DAVIS.
My paternal gr-gr grandfather Hiram C. Tackett was born "out-of-wedlock", 25 Feb ca 1820 in VA to Alsey Tackett, who m 7 Sept 1826 in Floyd Co., KY to Elisha Blevins. Elisha, age 44, and Alsey, age 44, are enumerated in the 1850 Floyd Co., KY Census with William, age 22, Lewis, age 20, Solomon, age 18, Mary, age 14, John, age 12, and Martin, age 7. On Hiram Tackett's death certificate, his father is listed as John Sizemore. I would like to find more information on John Sizemore, i.e. his birth and death dates, and his parents and sibling names. Would particularly like to hear from any of the Blevins descendants of this family.
Surnames I am researching include ALTON/ALLTON, EDDY, PALMER, WHITLOCK, SOUTH, JOHNSON, HARRIS, DENNIS, BERKHAMMER, FOWLER, SANTEE, GROSS, BUCKLEY, QUINBY, AND HAIGHT on my father's side and BLANTON, TACKETT, NICKELL, QUICKSAL, DAVIS, SALYER, SHAVER, ONEY, SHEPHERD, CURTIS, JANES, JAYNE, SIZEMORE, TACKETT, FUGATE, FAIRCHILD, WILSON, NICHOLS, SAILOR/SAYLOR, REMY, JACKSON, FOWLER, CRAIG, SEYBERT/SEIBERT, WHEELER, MCCARTY, GOBLE, MCCOMB, PAYNE, THEISS, JONES, SHERWOOD, YOUNG, COLLINS, WOODHULL, DEJEANNE, BEACH, MOREHOUSE, HOUGHTON, YOUNG, and CLARK on my mother's side.
With the help of many others, I have been able trace my ALTON/ALLTON line back to Erasmus Alton. We think he was born in England ca 1665 but have nothing earlier than his being in New York in the late 1600's.
I also have quite a bit on the Fairchild line, thanks to the help of a wonderful friend, Vivian Evans, who now lives in Kentucky.
Still need much help on the other lines, particularly the Blanton and Eddy lines. My maternal gr-gr-gr grandfather George Blanton was born ca 1775 in Powell Valley, VA and married Martha Shepherd. My paternal gr-gr grandfather, Isaac Eddy born 1 Feb 1835 to Isaac and Nancy (Berkhammer) Eddy and married in Ohio 17 May 1855 to Mariah Johnson who was born 4 Aug 1836.
Another paternal gr-gr grandfather, James Palmer b 12 Sept 1840, to Nathaniel Palmer, m 17 Dec 1865 Ohio to Mary J. South b 5 Aug 1848/9, dau of William [b 1819, m 26 Oct 1843] and Jane (Dennis)[b1828]South. James Palmer d 17 Dec 1865 OH. Wife Mary d 21 Sept 1926 OH.
I have more dates, etc but not sure what to include here. Need much help from others and am willing to share what I have.
