Notes for JOAB BROOKS: Joab settled in Chatham Co., NC with his brother Mark, on the headwaters of Ephraim's Creek, about 2 miles northwest of Ore Hill. In 1768, Joab presented a land dispute to the Courts against Samuel Goodman and the courts settled the case in favor of Joab. |

Property 3: Bet. 1771 - 1782, He was granted 450 acres in Anson Co., NC, in a part that was later to become SC when the state lines were established.
