THE FOLLOWING IS IMPORTANT INFORMATION FOR THE BROOKS RESEARCHERS;
...."notice on the John Brooks Jr. page listing the son, James Brooks m. Elizabeth Traylor that new research questions the relationship of this James Brooks b. VA in 1758 to be the son of John Brooks, Jr.?"...."serious questions raised...I am working with other Brooks researchers who include descendants of James Brooks who married E. Traylor and they, too, had recognized that he did not fit earlier that I did.
For a long time, Isham Brooks was assigned as the son of John Hanna Brooks that, too, Is now disproved (I have the pdf file from Robert Brooks).
Balaam is probably not a son of John Brooks, Jr. he was not born until 1781 or 1782 he is likely a grandson who may have been raised by Jane May Brooks. Ca 1775-1776 when Micajah applied for his pension he stated I was a lad of 14, an orphan.
