!Peter was the first of five brothers to immigrate to Chicago, about 1868 (or 1864 according to daughter Marie Anna. It is not known whether his great uncle Philip influenced him or not but it appears doubtful since Philip died in 1849 and Peter did not go to Ohio.

His brothers Philip, Henry, Jacob, and George later came to the US.
