Researching our many Grandparents

Many, many years ago
When they traveled across this land

.

Thank you for visiting my Genealogy website!  Actually there are many.  I have managed to collect hundreds of documents and photos to verify and confirm my elders and their locations, who their cousins were and their neighbors.

Not only do I have a cousin who was hanged, drawn, and quartered by the indian known as King Phillip, but I have cousins who married Indian Chiefs and other cousins named Powhatan, Tecumseh, and Osceola.

Some were in Pennsylvania in the 1700s, migrating into Quaker Country Ohio, living amongst the many indian tribes who had also migrated into that area.

Some were in New York Indian Country, Massachusetts, and Rhode Island among tribes that we in the South had never heard of.

Others from Charlotte or even Jamestown, Virginia, 1600s, went their different ways by 1700 developing their Southern Plantations and raising their families.

Some participated in the Georgia Cherokee Land Lottery, while some were in California trying their luck in the Gold Rush - but history tells us there was also a Gold Rush in Georgia.  The white man discovered valuable minerals in that new unexplored land and did everything possible to take it away from it's original owners.

To settle in unknown territories

Chopping trees to build a cabin.

And planting their crops and starting over when the Wilson's Raiders burned down everything they owned during the Civil War.

MORE LAND RECORDS OF THE 1800S

Georgia Land Documents

Thomas Carter, unknown connection, last will and testament below

John Fann of England married Mary Stone in Richmond VA  and had Henry in 1702. Henry married Winnifred Gathings and their sons John and Zachariah served in the American Revolution and received land in Georgia.  Zachariah's wife Alecy McCoy may have been Cherokee indian and their son was Travis who married an unknown "Mary".   Mary had Elijah in 1788.  Elijah and his wife Martha Rich had John Fenn, who served in the Civil War and died in Alabama.

The son of John Stephens and his cherokee wife was also a John and he married Jane Tillman and moved to Montgomery Alabama.

In the Brooks lineage of 1800 Tennessee I am researching Connelly, Cox, Dickson, Pennington, Craig, Bond, Smith, etc.

The Bozemans may have been brothers, Meade who married Chloe Nelson, James, and Samuel, with Martha being their widowed mother.
