BAYOUTH - Mildred Jean, 83, passed away peacefully August 24, 2008. Mildred, a long-time resident of Sapulpa, was one of four children. She was born on October 14, 1924. She graduated as an honor student from Collinsville High School. In 1945, she married her husband, Edward ("Eddie") Bayouth. Together, they made their home in Sapulpa. She and Eddie owned Bayouth's Department Store where they worked side by side along with their children until 1995. Mildred was preceded in death by: her parents, Eli and Ethel Oaks; brother, Ralph Oaks; and sisters, Merle Mount and Dorothy Fields; and granddaughter, Susan Bayouth. She is survived by: her husband, Eddie J. Bayouth; and 3 children, Larry Bayouth (and wife, Cathey), Eddie Bayouth Jr. (and wife, Debbe) and Jean Ann Bayouth-Thompson (and husband, Robert). She has 10 grandchildren, Larry Bayouth Jr, Lisa Madigan, Steven Bayouth, Jenifer Hayworth, Chris Thompson, Monica Magnuson, Amber DeKok, Brian Bayouth, Brent Bayouth and Nick Thompson. She was an active member of the Sapulpa business community with her involvement in Jaycee Jaynes, Sapulpa Chamber of Commerce, Kiwannians, and numerous civic organizations. As a lifetime member of the First Presbyterian Church in Sapulpa she was active in many of the church circles. She was also an active volunteer for St. Antony's Eastern Orthodox Christian Church of Tulsa. She was devoted to her family and was most often found in the kitchen cooking for her 20 great-grandchildren. She will be truly missed by those who were blessed to know her, especially the many she touched with her years as a mentor and sponsor to the local chapter of Sapulpa Serenity Group. The family requests that donations in her memory be made to either First Presbyterian Church Memorial Fund in Sapulpa or St. Antony's Eastern Orthodox Christian Church of Tulsa. A Celebration of Mildred's life will be held at First Presbyterian Church in Sapulpa on Wednesday, August 27th at 10 am. CLEVELAND, Okla. - Longtime business owner and University
of Oklahoma football fan Katie Bayouth died Friday in Scottsdale,
Ariz. She was 63.
Her services were conducted Tuesday under the direction
of Chapman-Black's Funeral Home.
Bayouth was born in Tulsa, but her parents, Carl and Ruth
Dampf, moved the family to Collinsville, where she graduated
from high school in 1948.
She married her high school sweetheart, Emile Bayouth, a
year after graduation. They lived in Jenks and Wagoner County
before moving to Cleveland in 1954.
The Bayouths owned and operated Bayouth Department Store
for 38 years.
Bayouth was an active member of Cleveland's First Christian
Church and an avid Sooners football fan.
She and her husband attended 90 percent of all Sooners games,
home and away, in the past 25 years, including the annual
OU-Texas games at the Cotton Bowl.
She is survived by her husband; a son, Danny Bayouth of
Cleveland; two daughters, Cathy Pearmon of Colchester, Conn.,
and Toni Stevens of Scottsdale, Ariz.; her mother, Ruth
Dampf; a sister, Susie Dampf of Cleveland; a brother, Jim
Dampf of Cleveland; and four grandchildren.

NAIFEH -- Jimmie C. Sr., 84, passed away peacefully March 6, 2003. Jimmie, a longtime resident of Tulsa, was one of six children. He was born on April 6, 1918 to Mr. and Mrs. C.S. Naifeh in Kiefer, OK. Jimmie showed his love of his country through his service in the U.S. Army during World War II. He was awarded the Bronze Star. After the war, he returned to Tulsa, where he married and started his family. Jimmie owned and operated Naifeh's Grocery for more than 50 years in the city of Tulsa. He was a self-made man who knew the meaning of hard labor and the value of experience. He made many friends throughout his years in business and was loved by all. Jimmie was a founding member of St. Antony's Orthodox Christian Church. He was very proud of his Lebanese heritage and was a founding member of the Cedars and Salaam Clubs of Tulsa, which were devoted to maintaining his cultural traditions. He was a 32nd degree Mason and a member of VFW Post 577. He was a member of the Tulsa University Golden Hurricane Club and an avid fan. Jimmie was a lover of dogs, which was apparent through his devotion to his pets, which were his chairside companions. Jimmie was preceded in death by: brothers, Sam and Benny; sisters, Julia and Elizabeth; and first wife, Bonnie. He is survived by: his brother, George of Aiken, SC; his wife, JoAnn Bayouth-Naifeh; children, Jimmie C. Naifeh Jr., Gina Lynn Poindexter (and husband, Mike); Sally DeeAnn Naifeh, Bradley C. Naifeh (and wife, Julie), all of Tulsa. He has 6 grandchildren, Haley JoAnn Naifeh, Michael and Brittani Poindexter, Meaghan Reaves, Mackenzie and Mason (BJ) Naifeh. Trasagion Prayer Service at 5 p.m., Sunday, March 9, 2003 at Floral Haven Chapel. Funeral at 10 a.m., Monday, March 10, 2003 at St. Antony's Orthodox Christian Church located at 2545 E. 6th St., Tulsa. Interment will follow at Floral Haven Cemetery in Broken Arrow, OK.
