| I am busily researching the Harner/Lamphear and related families. I have made remarkable progress in a relatively short period of time, thanks to assistance by many newfound "cousins"; but there is still much more information out there to be discovered! My 3rd greatgrandfather, Samuel Harner, was born 7/6/1815 in Berks County, Pennsylvania. His ancestors trace back to Hans Hoerner born about 1620 in Dottenheim, Bavaria. My 3rd greatgrandmother, Christiana Hartanft Schaeffer, was also from Pennsylvania, near Glasgow, Pennsylvania. Her ancestors trace back to Tobias Herterranft, born about 1684 in Lauterseiffen, Silesia. My 3rd greatgrandfather, Prentice Lanpher, was born 7/11/1781 in Westerly, Washington County, Rhode Island. His ancestors trace back to George Lamphere, born about 1631 in Berkshire, England. My 3rd greatgrandmother, Anna Norey Meriott, was born in 1787 in Westerly, Rhode Island. My 3rd greatgrandfather, Isaac Heacock, was born 1814 in Delaware County, Pennsylvania. My 3rd greatgrandmother, Tacy Ann, was from the same area, I believe. I am close to finding his father and establishing the line back to Jonathan and Ann Till Heacock who emigrated to Delaware County, PA, from England in the early 1700s. My 3rd greatgrandfather, Pennell Peters, was born 6/13/1802 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. His ancestors trace back to Ralph Peters, born about 1665 in England. My 3rd greatgrandmother, Rebecca Pyle, was from the Delaware County, Pennsylvania area. My 3rd greatgrandfather, William Simonson Butler, was born March 1, 1799, in either Chester County or Delaware County, Pennsylvania. His ancestors trace back to John Butler, living 1703 in Bristol, England. My 3rd greatgrandmother, Margaret Moore was from the same area as William. My 2nd greatgrandfather, Harry L. Sines, was born in 1851 in Delaware County, Pennsylvania. My 2nd greatgrandmother, Naomi M. Major, was born 3/14/1823 in Delaware County, Pennsylvania. I am tracing their lines back in Delaware County, Pennsylvania. My 2nd greatgrandfather, John L. McCafferty, was born 9/18/1841 in Wilmington, Delaware. My 2nd greatgrandmother, Hannah Mary King, was from Middletown, Delaware County, Pennsylvania. I have no earlier information on these lines at this time. My 2nd greatgrandfather, John Bulmer was born most likely in Maine.. My 2nd greatgrandmother, Lydia Rupp was also reportedly born somewhere in Delaware. The only information I have on them is that they had a daughter, Mary A. Bulmer (my greatgrandmother) born in Pennsyvania on 5/10/1870. Also, I have been told that John Bulmer was lost at sea when Mary was a young child. On my Faries side, my 3rd greatgrandfather, Alfred D. Faries, was born about 1832 in New Castle Co., Delaware and married Rebecca before 1853. I am actively researching to discover his parentage. He appears to be connected to Robert Faries the Irishman who owned land in the Welsh Tract, Pencader Hundred, New Castle. Co., Delaware in the 1700s. I am also researching the following surnames: BABCOCK, BIRD, BRIENTNALL, CHAMPLIN, COOK, COVEY, DINGLER, DUTTON, EDENFIELD, FARIES/FARRIS/FERRIS, GRINNELL, HATHAWAY, HAYCOCK, IRVING, KING, LYNN, MARSHALL, MARRYOTT/MERIOT, MCAFEE, MINNINGER, NOBLE, PYLE, RHUE/RHU/RUE, STEVENS, SWAYNE, TAYLOR, TURNER AND TWADDELL. |
